The 33rd Americas Cup yachting race is expected to be fought out in Valencia during 2009 and 2010 with a series of international regattas planned for summer 2009 and the final match in 2010.

Moto GP Valencia – held every year at the Ricardo Tormo stadium to the west of Valencia city.

La Liga football – top class Spanish football can be seen at the famous Mestalla stadium.  In 2010 Valencia football club will move to an even more impressive state of the art "new Mestalla" stadium.

Valencia World Class Fiestas

Las Fallas  Without a shadow of a doubt, this is the most spectacular, complete fiesta on earth.  It takes place in the middle of March and is intended as a tribute to St. Joseph, patron saint of the carpenters' guild.  The basis of the fiesta, are the Fallas monuments known as "Ninots". On the last day, at midnight, all the monuments are set on fire and burn in immense, spectacularly beautiful pyres. .

La Tomatina (Tomato "party")  La Tomatina festival in Spain gives new meaning to the expression 'playing with your food'. For most of the year Bunol is a ho-hum industrial town, 40km from Valencia.  However, on the last Wednesday of August, the streets in Buñol turns into a massive salsa riot, with over 20,000 revellers pelting each other with large, red, squishy tomatoes!
